Adrian High School Football, coached by Matt Cochran, Matt Davis, Caleb Noland, and Colter Schacher, includes boys from 9th-12th grade who started summer conditioning on June 2nd. The first practice was August 10 at the George Bruto Athletic complex, and the first game on August 28 was away, against Butler.
All senior players are given the role of captain at different times and expected to step up in leadership both in practice and during games. The beginning of the season was stressful playing class 2 schools along with COVID realities.
COVID creates many concerns for players and coaches this season. The goal is to play out the year without any more missed games and quarantines. Players, coaches, and fans help by wearing masks and practicing social distancing when required and to reduce the possibility of a canceled season. As Assistant Coach Matt Davis quotes, “ Hopefully we get to play our full season. We have missed 1 game due to COVID. Hopefully, that is our only dealing with the virus and we are able to let the teams play determine how the season ends.”
