Student Council

Adrian Student Council, Stuco, helps our school and community by doing events such as trash clean-ups and by giving the students a voice at the high school administration level. They go to conventions, district and state meetings. District convention is on Oct. 26, while state convention is later on in the spring. Stuco’s overall goal is to improve Blackhawk spirit. In order to get involved, you have to go through the application process at the end of the school year to be involved in Stuco for the next school year. They have a total of 43 members, with senior Gavin Reed as President, senior Amina Scaletty as Vice President, sophomore Caitlyn Cox as Secretary, sophomore Aaron Cochran as Treasurer, and freshman Chandler Jacquinot as Historian.

President Gavin Reed said that he thought the organization will accomplish many goals this year and be the most proactive they’ve ever been. Amina Scaletty’s favorite part of Stuco is meeting a lot of people at Student Council conventions and learning how to improve. Both Scaletty and Reed are looking forward to continuing helping the school and community as much as possible. Stuco members bond by discussing things such as dress code and taking everyones opinion. They also do conventions and services, such as helping with the blood drive and administration. Reed’s advice and call to join Student Council is, “Don’t just watch change happen, try to be the change that you see.”
