The yearbook staff and Adviser Michele Burris went to Walsworth Publishing, the Smoke Signals publishing company, in Overland Park. They met with the district's representative, Tracy, who showed them software tips and tricks, and offered constructive suggestions about their spreads for this year's yearbook. Tracy inspired the staff by allowing them to look through a large variety of yearbooks. It was a beneficial visit! Afterward, the yearbook staff went to Dave and Busters for some team bonding before returning to school!

Mr. Rylee Mabe, Weights Teacher, allowed 2nd graders to join his high school class today during their recess. High schoolers timed them when running the 40 yard dash. This is an exceptional example of older Blackhawks helping and encouraging younger Blackhawks!

Senior Tommy Burk is headed to State Speech and Debate this spring! Tommy was recently recognized by Dane Diehl, District 125 State Representative, for an outstanding performance at districts, which qualified Tommy for state. A well-deserved honor, Tommy! Congrats!

The Blackhawks represented well at FCCLA state today! Three of the nine members learned this evening that they made it to the top five! Tomorrow morning, the top three will be announced in each category. Stay tuned! Congratulations, Blackhawks!

Author Stephanie White spoke to Adrian Elementary students and signed autographs. She is from the Warrensburg/Odessa area where she and her husband run their family farm. Mrs. White has written and published 10 picture books so far and is getting ready to publish her first chapter book. Thank you for talking with the Blackhawks!

The 2026 Adrian High School National Honor Society (NHS) held its annual induction ceremony on March 4, 2025. Ten Blackhawks were inducted into NHS. NHS is an organization that recognizes high school students for excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Students are selected based on their academic achievement, involvement in school activities, commitment to community service, and strong moral character. Members are encouraged to give back to their school and community while continuing to strive for academic success.
